Yano would bring them back into the ring where he would take off the turnbuckle and send Sasaki into two times unprotected, but the third time Mammoth would end up reversing and sending Yano into it instead. Mammoth would not have control for long as he would attempt to suplex Yano, but Yano would kick Mammoth low and deliver a suplex with Mammoth landing on his head. Yano would go for the attempted lariat, but he would be met with a Mammoth lariat instead. Mammoth sensing victory would hit the 29 Years Old with Yano barely managing to kick out. Yano would beg for Mammoth to let off of him and Mammoth would in return begin punching away at Yano but Yano would counter by slamming Mammoth down onto the mat and grabbing a chair. As it seems like Yano was going to finish off Mammoth with the chair, Mammoth would be able to counter with a foot into Yano's chair sending into Yano's face. Mammoth would grab the chair and begin smashing it over Yano's head. Mammoth would then grab another chair and deliver the Mammoth Home Run but again Yano would manage to barely kick out. Mammoth would then grab Yano and deliver another 29 Years Old on Yano and cover him for the pin and finally score the pinfall victory to win the WEW World Championship and finally defeat a GBH member in the biggest win of Mammoth Sasaki's career. Kasai would get up and attack Mammoth and attempt to Tiger Driver him instead through the glass, but Mammoth would end up over powering Kasai and throw Kasai through another plate of glass instead. Mammoth and Kasai would then begin to brawl on the stage in the crowd with Mammoth going for the chokeslam but Kasai would manage to counter with a kick and a DDT on the stage. Kasai would then grab a table and duct tape Mammoth to it while he would climb up the stairs to the balcony of Korakuen Hall. Kasai would then dive off the top of the balcony to send Mammoth through the table with the crowd screaming Kasai's name. Kasai would end up posing to the crowd long enough for Mammoth to get up and choke slam Kasai off the stage through another table. Kasai and Mammoth would head back to the ring and attempt to send one another through another plate of glass. Kasai would try over and over to shove Mammoth into one, and it would take Kasai doing the Fuyuki Charge Lariat before finally sending Mammoth through a plate of glass. Kasai would then grab four set of chairs and place the last plate of glass on the four chairs and lay Mammoth under it. Kasai would then deliver a dive through the glass over Mammoth's body with Mammoth reacting right away by getting up and grabbing Kasai to deliver the 29 Years Old. Mammoth would place a chair over Kasai's head and swing for the Mammoth Home Run with Kasai ducking and moving out of the way and grabbing a piece of table and smashing it over Mammoth's head. Mammoth would team up with Yuko Miyamoto to take on Mr. Gannosuke and Mineo Fujita. Mammoth and Gannosuke would begin exchanging clotheslines until Gannosuke would catch a Mammoth clothesline and attempt to turn it into a Gannosuke Clutch with Mammoth just once again overpowering Gannosuke and sending him flying across the ring instead. Mammoth would deliver an Awesome Bomb to Gannosuke but Mineo Fujita would manage to break the count. Mammoth would then charge at Fujita but would miss and be sent over the top rope instead. Fujita would then hit a dive to the outside on Mammoth allowing Gannosuke to finish off Yuko Miyamoto with a Fire Thunder for the win. Makabe would wrap the chain around Takashi's neck and toss him over the top rope to choke him out with Ishii's help. With Mammoth still knocked out, Hido would come into the ring and make his first appearance in over a year by attacking Makabe and Ishii with a barbed wire bat. Kintaro Kanemura would make it to the show drunk off sake and go up to a female Big Japan staff worker and begin making advances towards her and rubbing her through her pants in the backstage area with wrestlers watching but not saying anything or doing anything. The female staff worker who sent out the Big Japan newsletters out to fans would complain to one of Big Japan's promoters Eiji Tosaka but would just be told to be quiet about the incident as if it got out it would hurt both Kanemura and Big Japan so no punishment would happen to Kanemura right away but the story would definitely not be over.

Mammoth would bring Garuda back in the ring where he would hit a chokeslam on him which would then be followed up by a Moonsault by Kamui with Soldier having to make the save. Mammoth would go for a chokeslam on Soldier but Soldier would end up countering it and sending Mammoth to the top turnbuckle where Garuda would come flying at him and disabling Mammoth from the making the save as Soldier would hit his BUU off the top rope on Kamui for the pinfall in a disappointing return for the first time in 3 years to Mammoth's former home.

December 25, 2008 at Shin-Kiba 1st Ring, Mammoth would team up with Tetsuhiro Kuroda and Koji Nakagawa against the team of Takashi Sasaki, GENTARO, and Kamui in the last battle between the FMW Legends Army and the Apache Army in a Barbed wire Board, Barbed wire Bat, and Ladder Street Fight. Takashi Sasaki and Mammoth would go at it right away at the beginning of the match and end up brawling into the bleachers of Shin-Kiba. Kamui and Kuroda would brawl as well following the Sasaki's with Kamui and Takashi Sasaki switching with Kamui beating on Mammoth while Takashi would take care of Kuroda. Kamui would not be able to keep control of Mammoth long as Mammoth would begin fighting back and grabbing a bottle in the bleachers and smashing it across Kamui's face causing him to fall down the bleachers. Mammoth would eventually get back in the ring to face Takashi as the two would exchange chops on another with Takashi getting the advantage after beginning to throw punches and beginning to slice Mammoth's head with the barbed wire on the barbed wire board before tagging in GENTARO who would grab a barb wired bat and smash it across Mammoth's chest. GENTARO would then place the barbed wire bat over Mammoth's face and attempt to deliver an elbow with Mammoth moving out of the way and GENTARO elbowing the barbed wire bat instead. GENTARO would quickly tag in Kamui who Mammoth would again just be too powerful to be kept down by Kamui as Mammoth would quickly grab Kamui and deliver a choke slam to him. Mammoth would then begin choking Kamui with the barbed wire bat before tagging in Kuroda. Mammoth and Kamui would end up being tagged in together and Kamui would show some offense as he would manage to dropkick Mammoth into the barbed wire board and then place the barbed wire board over Mammoth's body with Kamui climbing a ladder and delivering a Swanton onto the barbed wire board across Mammoth's body. Kamui would then deliver a Fire Bird Splash but even before the referee could count to one, Mammoth would manage to get up and pick up Kamui with him and deliver the 29 Years Old. Mammoth would then throw the barbed wire board over Kamui's body and deliver a leg drop on it to get the cover and the win for the FMW Legends Army. It would turn out to be the last match of the FMW Legends Army after Mr. Gannosuke would retire two days later and the Apache Army promotion would change direction due to Takashi Sasaki promoting it.
December 27, 2008 at Shin-Kiba 1st Ring, Mammoth would team up with Mr. Gannosuke and Jinsei Shinzaki to take on the team of Masato Tanaka, Kintaro Kanemura, and Tetsuhiro Kuroda in Mr. Gannosuke Retirement Match in a Street Fight. Gannosuke, Shinzaki, and Mammoth would be jumped right at the start of the match with Mammoth and Kuroda beginning their brawl outside the ring. Once Tanaka and Gannosuke's brawl outside the ring would interject with Mammoth and Kuroda's, Kuroda would help team up with Tanaka to attack Gannosuke with Mammoth rushing in to make the save but instead Kuroda would end up grabbing Mammoth and throwing him into a table placed by the turnbuckle outside the ring. Eventually Tanaka and Gannosuke would finally make it back in the ring, and after some time Gannosuke would manage to tag in Mammoth would who go after Tanaka. Tanaka would manage to back supplex Mammoth and tag in Kuroda who would work his signature spots to the knee on Mammoth before Mammoth would manage to break away and tag in Shinzaki. Mammoth would be tagged in one last time and rush in and go after Kuroda but Mammoth would make a charge at Kuroda with Kuroda moving out of the way and Mammoth running into the turnbuckle. Kuroda would then deliver the Technan Cutter. Mammoth and Kuroda would then end up exchanging clotheslines until knocking each other both down with Kuroda making the tag to Kanemura and Mammoth making the tag to Gannosuke. Gannosuke would eventually finish off Kanemura with the Fire Thunder for the win in his last ever match. After the match, Gannosuke and Kanemura would put an end to their feud and embrace by hugging afterwards. All six wrestlers in the match would then do the TNR Dance one last time together and shake hands with one another before leaving the ring for Gannosuke to say his goodbye as a pro-wrestler. After Gannosuke's retirement ceremony with the bell ringing 10 tens to symbol the end of Gannosuke's pro wrestling career, Mammoth and all other the wrestlers that competed on the show would come back in the ring and pick up Gannosuke and toss him up three times before dropping him down in ring filled with streamers. Mammoth would even throw some of the streamers over Gannosuke's head for good measure. After the show, Hayabusa and Gannosuke would be talking to reporters when Mammoth would come in and many of the other wrestlers would follow and a FMW reunion would end up taking place backstage at the Shin-Kiba 1st Ring with all the wrestlers taking pictures together for what might be the last time that many former FMW wrestlers would be together in the same room at a time.
December 31, 2008 at Korakuen Hall, at the annual Pro-Wrestling Summit held on New Year's Eve just hours before the new year, Mammoth would participate in the main event by teaming with Yoshihito Sasaki and Shuji Ishikawa against tag team partner Daisuke Sekimoto, Kaientai Dojo's Kengo Mashimo, and NOAH's Atsushi Aoki with Sekimoto managing to hit his German Supplex to finish off the match, but this time it would be against Mammoth who he would hit it on and pin. After the match, all the wrestlers from the show would enter the ring and with Sekimoto leading them on countdown to the beginning of 2009 with the crowd. 2009 would turn out to be a horrible year for Mammoth professionally.
January 2, 2009 at Korakuen Hall, Mammoth and Sekimoto would team back up, but for the first time since they became champions they would not defend their BJW Tag Team Titles at Korakuen. They would face off against Yoshihito Sasaki and rookie Shinya Ishikawa and although it would look to be another easy task for Mammoth and Sekimoto, it would turn out to be anything but after Yoshihito Sasaki would end up hitting Sekimoto with a lariat and scoring a pinfall victory over the tag champs in a huge upset. It would then be announced that a tag team tournament would take place in Big Japan called the Maximum Tag Team Tournament. The winner of the tournament would earn a shot at Mammoth and Sekimoto's BJW Tag Team Titles although Mammoth and Sekimoto would still compete in the tournament as well.
January 16, 2009 at Shin-Kiba 1st Ring, Mammoth and Yoshihito Sasaki team up to take on Tetsuhiro Kuroda and Gosaku for the new look Takashi Sasaki promoted Apache Army. Mammoth's first rival in FMW in Gosaku would reunite as they would start off brawling right away at the top of the bleachers of the building. During their brawl all over the building, Gosaku would pull out a huge knife and begin carving away at Mammoth's forehead until blood was pouring down Mammoth's face. Kuroda would get tagged in and focus on the making the cut even worse by biting Mammoth's bloody forehead. Mammoth would end up fighting back eventually and managing to tag in Yoshihito. Mammoth would be tagged back in where he would place a ladder over his head and begin hitting Gosaku and Kuroda with it. Mammoth would then grab Gosaku by the throat to choke slam, but Gosaku would counter with a choke slam of himself. Gosaku would attempt at a lariat, but Mammoth would catch him and hit him with the Mammoth Driver. Mammoth would then deliver the 29 Years Old and then finish Gosaku off with the Mammoth Home Run for the pinfall victory for the Sasaki's.
February 13, 2009 at Korakuen Hall, Mammoth and Sekimoto would enter into Big Japan's Maximum Tag Team League. Their first match would be against Ryuji Ito and Shuji Ishikawa and again the Big Japan Tag Team Champions would fail to get a victory for the second month in a row at Korakuen Hall, although this time the match would end up being a time limit draw after neither teams could get a victory over one another after thirty minutes. Both teams would be rewarded one point for the time limit draw.
February 19, 2008 at Shin-Kiba 1st Ring, Mammoth would team up with Tetsuhiro Kuroda to take on the team of GENTARO and The Winger. GENTARO and Winger would take turns going after Mammoth during the match, tagging in and out frequently. Mammoth would end up just getting frustrated by it and when taking control of the match he would try to rip off Winger's mask as a result. Mammoth would end up tagging out and GENTARO and Winger would end up destroying Kuroda together with the referee not allowing Mammoth in to stop the punishment to Kuroda. Even when Kuroda would finally make the tag, the referee would not see it and force Mammoth back into his corner while GENTARO and The Winger would continue to attack Kuroda. Finally after Kuroda would manage to make the tag, Mammoth would come in and deliver his Mammoth Driver to GENTARO and a choke slam to The Winger. Mammoth would then try to hit the Awesome Bomb, but The Winger would kick Mammoth low instead to avoid it. The Winger would tag in GENTARO who would deliver another low blow to Mammoth and then go after his knee and hook on the figure four leglock to Mammoth. Kuroda would eventually manage to make the save and clothesline GENTARO over the rope leaving Mammoth alone with The Winger and although The Winger would try to escape by small packaging Mammoth, Mammoth would block his leg before he could roll him up and pick The Winger up for the 29 Years Old. Mammoth feeling victory would then hit The Winger with a lariat but The Winger would manage to kick out, but Mammoth would just go back to the 29 Years Old to finish off The Winger for good and get the victory for his team. The Winger afterwards would challenge Mammoth to a Chain Death Match at the next Shin-Kiba 1st Ring show in March with Mammoth accepting, although the match would end up never happening and this match would turn out to be Mammoth's last match for the next 16 months.
In what would seem like a routine day off of wrestling for Mammoth Sasaki on February 28, 2009 would turn out to be anything but. Mammoth would be driving in his car when a car behind him would run a red light and hit the rear end of Mammoth's car. The damage of the accident would be enough to destroy the backside of the passenger seat. Mammoth would refuse to take the ambulance to the hospital out of embarrassment of feeling weak if he did that and decided to just find and take a taxi to the hospital instead. Mammoth would suffer an injured neck, back, and elbow as well as dizzy spells. Mammoth's neck injury would be diagnosed with a vertebrae sprain. Mammoth would call Daisuke Sekimoto and tell him about the situation and bring up vacating the Big Japan Tag Team Titles due to Mammoth being unable to compete for some time.
March 12, 2009 at the Shin-Kiba 1st Ring, Mammoth would make his first appearance since the accident to announce to the Big Japan audience that due to his injuries he was not going to be able to compete for some time and as a result the team of Mammoth Sasaki and Daisuke Sekimoto were going to have to vacate the BJW Tag Team Titles with Mammoth having to drop out of the Maximum Tag Team Tournament League. Masato Tanaka would end up coming in to take the place of Mammoth and team with Sekimoto although the point that the team of Mammoth and Sekimoto had earned for the time limit draw was being erased and the team of Masato Tanaka and Daisuke Sekimoto would start off with 0 points and one less match than the other teams.
March 16, 2009 at the Shin-Kiba 1st Ring, Mammoth would appear among the Apache Army fans in a neck brace to announce due to his injuries that he was going to have to take off a long period of time to heal and that he was not going to be able to compete against The Winger in a Chain Death Match. Daisuke Sekimoto would end up taking Mammoth's spot in the match and defeating The Winger with a German Suplex.
Mammoth would later announce that after just three weeks after the car accident that he would lose several kilograms of weight due to the injuries. Mammoth would be force to take a year off from wrestling and would not be seen for 51 weeks at a pro-wrestling show. During that time the team of Masato Tanaka and Daisuke Sekimoto despite one less match would qualify into the semi-finals of the Maximum Tag Team Tournament before losing on April 28, 2009 at Korakuen Hall to the team of Yuko Miyamoto and Takashi Sasaki after Miyamoto would end up pinning Sekimoto with a Gannosuke Clutch to eliminate Sekimoto any chance of winning back the BJW Tag Team Titles. Takashi Sasaki would also announce on June 26, 2009 that the Apache Army promotion would be closing for good but he would later announce that he would be starting up his new promotion called FREEDOMS and offering Mammoth Sasaki a spot on the roster once he would recover and be able to return to wrestling, although Tetsuhiro Kuroda would end announcing he would not be joining the FREEDOMS promotion and instead aligning himself with Kintaro Kanemura and his XWF promotion.
March 10, 2010 at the Shin-Kiba 1st Ring, for the FREEDOMS promotion after his match, Takashi Sasaki would get on the mic and announce a return to the promotion after this wrestler had been severely injured. Sasaki would end up announcing HIROKI who had been severely injured back in November 2007 while being apart of the Apache Army. Sasaki would then announce that he had another surprise return to the show as Mammoth Sasaki's FMW theme would begin to play the a very good crowd reaction from the fans as Mammoth Sasaki would make his return and be seen by wrestling fans for the first time in just one week short of a year. Mammoth would announce that he would be making his return to the ring for the first time in 16 months when the FREEDOMS promotion runs their first ever show at Korakuen Hall on June 21, 2010. Mammoth then thanked the fans for their support during this tough year that he had gone through and would pose with Takashi Sasaki, Jun Kasai, and HIROKI, and Kamui in the ring
June 21, 2010 at Korakuen Hall, Mammoth Sasaki would make his return to the ring for the first time in 16 months as well as his FREEDOMS debut against rival and former partner Daisuke Sekimoto. Mammoth and Sekimoto would start the match by running right into each other with powerful clotheslines as soon as the start of the match. They would begin chopping each other hard across the chest with Mammoth then delivering a clothesline to knock Sekimoto out of the ring. Mammoth would go to the outside and hit a flying clothesline off the apron as the chants crowd would chant loudly for Mammoth. Kamui would be by Mammoth Sasaki's corner and Ricky Fuji would eventually join in screaming for Mammoth. Mammoth and Sekimoto would exchange clotheslines and chops to one another as Mammoth would eventually try for the 29 Years Old but Sekimoto would manage to slide away and place Mammoth in the Torture Rack with Mammoth managing to escape. Sekimoto would go up to the top rope and hit a frog splash but as the referee would go to cover Mammoth would manage to pick up Sekimoto during the count and hit the 29 Years Old but Mammoth would be unable to put away Sekimoto with that. Sekimoto would end up finishing the match as he would end up hitting Mammoth with a German Suplex and although Mammoth would manage to kick out of it once, he would be unable to kick out of it the second German Supplex as Sekimoto would get the pinfall victory over the returning Mammoth Sasaki. Sekimoto would end up grabbing the mic to tell Mammoth "Welcome Back" as the FREEDOMS were very vocal while cheering for Mammoth during and after the match as Mammoth was now back.
July 11, 2010 at the Yokohama Nigizawa, Mammoth would make his return to Big Japan, but it would be at a D-Dash show which is designed for their younger workers to show what they have. Mammoth would have to show that he was fully back as he would take on Atsushi Ohashi as Mammoth would end up finishing off Ohashi with a Running 29 Years Old to get his first victory since his car accident.
July 15, 2010 at the Shin-Kiba 1st Ring, Mammoth would make his return to Shin-Kiba by teaming up with Kamui to take on Tatsuhito Takaiwa and Masashi Takeda. It would be the first time that Mammoth would go up against the young upstart Takeda as they would end up exchanging chops and clotheslines during the match, but it would be Takaiwa that would end up getting the win after hitting Kamui with a Death Valley Bomb to score the pinfall.
Although it would be my second time seeing him live, I would get the chance to meet Mammoth Sasaki for the first time on June 21, 2010 at Korakuen Hall during the intermission of the show and after he had made his return. Watching Mammoth Sasaki's return to wrestling and meeting him afterwards was definitely one of the top of my highlights of going to Japan and hopefully I will it will not be the last time I get to see Mammoth Sasaki.
