GOEMON would team up with Onryo & Darkness Dragon against The Great Sasuke, Tiger Mask IV, and Dragon Kid on August 28, 2002 at the Tokyo Differ Ariake for the WMF Debut show. It would turn out to be a very good match, but GOEMON's team would lose after Onryo would be pinned by Tiger Mask. It would turn out to be the last time that GOEMON would team up with Onryo as later on the show, GOEMON would make his presence known by coming out after a match between Mr. Gannosuke & Jinsei Shinzaki vs. Tetsuhiro Kuroda & Hisakatsu Oya. After Mitsuhiro Matsunaga had interfered in the match, GOEMON would come out and slap Matsunaga's hand to show his unity with the match that had just attacked Mr. Gannosuke with a barbwire bat. GOEMON would beat down on the fallen Gannosuke & Shinzaki with Kuroda & Oya and then walk over to Hayabusa. GOEMON would grab a bottle of water as Hayabusa watching in his wheel chair would be spit in the face with water by GOEMON. GOEMON would announce that he was forming own new group with Tetsuhiro Kuroda & Hisakatsu Oya, called The Double Cross Brand. GOEMON would be the official leader of the new heel group.
GOEMON would then reveal a new partner to take the place of Onryo in Sukekiyo, who would also be the newest member of The Double Cross Brand. GOEMON would team with Sukekiyo on September 16, 2002 against Onryo & Flying Kid Ichihara. Sukekiyo who is a wrestler of the ZIPANG promotion by the name of Tomoya Adachi in a white hooded mask would pin Ichihara.
GOEMON would then team up with Sukekiyo and IWC's Super Hentai on September 29, 2002 at the Saitama Koshigaya Katsura Studio to face Onryo, Asian Cougar, and Flying Kid Ichihara. GOEMON's new partner Sukekiyo would manage to score the pinfall victory over GOEMON's former tag team partner Onryo to capture the win for the Double Cross Brand team. GOEMON would not be done for the night, as he would return GOEMON would come to the announce table and watch Mitsuhiro Matsunaga take on Mammoth Sasaki with the commentators. Matsunaga being unable to use his death match tactics in WMF would resort to going back to his old karate style that he broke into the business training in. Mammoth would end up being too much for Matsunaga and would score the victory easily over him. Due to the loss, Matsunaga would be force to leave WMF although afterwards he would show his respect towards Mammoth Sasaki, which would not leave GOEMON please whatsoever.
Although GOEMON would become one the top heel for WMF, he would still suffer one of his most embarrassing losses after being pinned by Flying Kid Ichihara on November 10, 2002 at the Tokyo Takenotsuka Battle Sphere after GOEMON's knee would go out and then be hit with Ichihara's 619 for the defeat.
GOEMON would also suffer another huge loss, this time to former rival and tag partner, Onryo on November 23, 2002 at the Tokyo Takenotsuka Battle Sphere. The match would end up going over 18 minutes, but in the end, just like the many times before in FMW in 2000, Onryo would end up pinning GOEMON with the Onryo Clutch on his former friend and partner.
GOEMON would then make his return to Korakuen Hall for the first time since April 9, 2002 on December 12, 2002 in which he would team with Sukekiyo to defeat the team of Flying Kid Ichihara & Asian Cougar after GOEMON would end up getting revenge for his humiliating defeat by Ichihara a month earlier by pinning Ichihara in the match with a Swanton Bomb.
GOEMON would then team up with Tetsuhiro Kuroda on December 21, 2002 at the Sapporo Teisen Hall against the team of Mr. Gannosuke & Jinsei Shinzaki. During the match, Gannosuke would end up turning on Shinzaki and help The Double Cross Brand pound on Shinzaki in which Kuroda would become very confused by as he would know nothing about why Gannosuke was aligning himself with them. GOEMON & Gannosuke would then attack Kuroda causing the referee to throw the match out as Tetsuhiro Kuroda had been kicked out the Double Cross brand, and Mr. Gannosuke had became the newest member of the group.
The new Double Cross Brand team of GOEMON, Mr. Gannosuke, and Soldier would team up to take on the WMF team of Mammoth Sasaki, Tetsuhiro Kuroda, and Garuda on January 12, 2003 at the Tokyo Takenotsuka Battle Sphere as the new Double Cross Brand would be successful after Gannosuke would pin Sasaki in the match.
GOEMON would then take on former friend and rival dating back to the early days in FMW in Tetsuhiro Kuroda on February 15, 2003 at the Osaka Sky Dome Hall. GOEMON would end up losing via DQ to Kuroda, after Soldier would interfere and help GOEMON take out Kuroda. But Double Cross Brand would have much friction at the end of the show as the team of Mr. Gannosuke had revised his Hayabusa gimmick would team up with HISAKATSU but lose to the team of Mammoth Sasaki & Jinsei Shinzaki after Mammoth would get the pin on HISAKATSU. Gannosuke would blame HISAKATSU for the loss and shove HISAKATSU. HISAKATSU would reply back by supplexing Gannosuke. A very upset Gannosuke end up leaving the Brand Double Cross and form his group called "The GUN's".
Brand Double Cross on March 9, 2003 would end up gaining a new member, as after Onryo would defeat Ricky Fuji in one of the matches on the show, Brand Double Cross would hit the ring and begin attacking and stomping away at Onryo with Ricky Fuji right there in the ring. Ricky would look at them and then begin stomping away at Onryo as well as he would high five members of the group and become the newest member of Brand Double Cross. But they would take a big hit later in the show as Mr. Gannosuke would debut his new GUN's stable consisting of Ichiro Yaguchi & Katsumi Hirano as Gannosuke look-alikes by the names of Mr. Rocknosuke & Mr. Iwaonosuke. The GUN's group would become the top faction in WMF after The GUN's would defeat the team of GOEMON, HISAKATSU, and Soldier after Gannosuke would finish off GOEMON with a Fire Thunder. Brand Double Cross was now for the first time since WMF had started, no longer the leading heel faction in the promotion.
Then on March 19, 2003 at a Yokohama Hospital, long time leader of Team No Respect and FMW booker Kodo Fuyuki would pass away at 6:50 PM due to cancer at the age of 42. Almost every former FMW wrestler as well as wrestlers from all over Japan would come to pay respect to the life of Hiromichi "Kodo" Fuyuki.
Koji Nakagawa would attend the wake of Kodo Fuyuki on March 22, 2003 as well as other WMF employees Hayabusa, Mr. Gannosuke, Mammoth Sasaki, and Flying Kid Ichihara, all of whom had wrestled against or teamed with Kodo Fuyuki dating back to 1997. With videos playing of Kodo Fuyuki's career on a big screen, each wrestler and friend would walk up to the casket of Fuyuki to say their last goodbye.
GOEMON would be the selected person to come in the ring at the start of WMF's March 23, 2003 Saitama Hall Pepe Hall Atlas Show. GOEMON would wear his old Koji Nakagawa Team No Respect jersey given to him by Kodo Fuyuki in 1998. He would hold up a picture of Kodo Fuyuki and pay respect to Fuyuki from WMF with a 10 bell salute. GOEMON would then counter the loss earlier in the month to the GUN's by debuting a new member to his Brand Double Cross in a match against Mr. Gannosuke, Mr. Rocknosuke, and Mr. Iwaonosuke. GOEMON along with Soldier would reveal their partner to be Mr. Pogo. Mr. Pogo who had always hated Mr. Gannosuke dating back to Gannosuke's early days as a Onita partner back in FMW in 1994. Mr. Pogo would bring a chain in the match and then hang Gannosuke with the chain over the top rope causing the referee to stop the match and disqualify Mr. Pogo.
GOEMON would then team up with fellow Brand Double Cross members HISAKATSU & Ricky Fuji for WMF's 2nd Korakuen Hall show on April 11, 2003. Like the first Korakuen Hall show, GOEMON would again appear in the opening match. Again, against Flying Kid Ichihara, Asian Cougar, and this time with Mineo Fujita. The three Brand Double Cross members would paint their faces for the match and win easily as GOEMON would get the victory over Fujita with a Swanton Bomb. Later in the show, Sukekiyo a member of the Brand Double Cross would lose a match to Onryo where Sukekiyo would have to take off his mask and reveal to be Tomoya Adachi. Adachi would announce that he was leaving Brand Double Cross to fight on his own.
GOEMON would then enter in the 8 man single elimination Tournament for the newly created WMF Jr. Heavyweight Title. GOEMON would face off against comedy opening match WMF wrestler Ikeda-kun in the 1st Round on June 1, 2003 at the Tokyo Takenotsuka Battle Sphere in what look to be a easy win for GOEMON who was the favorite going into the Tournament. Ikeda who had been trained by GOEMON before debuting in FMW just short of two years before would not go down easily, and push GOEMON to the limits who spent the entire match hitting Ikeda with moves like his Swanton Bomb and Jackknife cradle, but each time Ikeda would manage to kick out. Ikeda would push the limits and last over 18 minutes with GOEMON before Ikeda would finally score a upset pinfall victory over GOEMON to eliminate him in the First Round of the Tournament. Tomoya Adachi would go on to win the Tournament to become the first WMF Jr. Heavyweight Champion.
After Kodo Fuyuki's death, long time FMW booker Go Ito would take over control of WEW, and would rename it back to Fuyuki Army Promotion. Go Ito would then agree to a deal with Hayabusa as they would work along side each other, with the first show being a FMW reunion at Korakuen Hall on July 7, 2003 with many of the WMF and WEW wrestlers working together.
July 7, 2003 at Korakuen Hall, GOEMON would team up with freelancer GENTARO to take on the WEW team of Hido & Chocoball Mukai in a Street Fight. GOEMON would be busted open during the match after being thrown into stacks of chairs and them slammed over the head with those same chairs. GOEMON with blood running down his face would bring out his long time secret weapon, his fork. GOEMON would begin to carve open Hido's forehead with the fork causing blood to run down Hido's forehead. GOEMON would get a hold of Mukai and put him in Camel Clutch causing Mukai to tap. Hido would come back in the ring and knock out GOEMON & GENTARO with chairs until Onryo returning from an injury would hit the ring and make the save by dropkicking Hido & Mukai out of the ring. Onryo would look at his former friend and tag partner and put his out his hand as a show of friendship which GOEMON would answer by shaking it as the team of GOEMON & Onryo were officially back together. When Onryo would put out his hand to GENTARO, it would be slapped away as GENTARO would state he wanted nothing to do with Onryo nor GOEMON. Afterwards, GOEMON would announce that he was officially disbanding Brand Double Cross as the group was now allowed to go where ever they want, ending the group just short of 11 months. GOEMON would announce that he and Onryo were now officially back as a team and friends.
GOEMON & Onryo would return as a team for the first time since August 28, 2002 for WMF's Korakuen Hall show on July 25, 2003 against GENTARO and his new partner TAKA Michinoku. GOEMON was very familiar with TAKA as the two had feuded back in FMW in 1996 over the FMW Independent Jr. Heavyweight Championship. It would turn out to be one of the better matches on the lackluster show as all four wrestler would hit their signature spots on another before TAKA would finally manage to get Onryo in a Crossface and cause Onryo to tap out for the GOEMON & Onryo loss.
GOEMON & Onryo would team up again for the Fuyuki Army Promotion August 25, 2003 Korakuen Hall show to take on the team of Mammoth Sasaki & K-Dojo's MIYAWAKI. Mammoth & MIYAWAKI would prove to be too powerful for GOEMON & Onryo as every time GOEMON & Onryo would start to gain control of the match, they would be overpowered. GOEMON would attempt a Tiger Driver on MIYAWAKI, but would be unable to pick him up, and as a result would be flipped over. Mammoth would nail GOEMON with a flying clothesline off the top rope, and then pick GOEMON up by the throat and choke slam right back down. Mammoth would then pick up GOEMON and nail him with Mammoth's 53 Year Old Jackhammer to score the pinfall victory over GOEMON. This would be back to back losses since returning as a team for GOEMON & Onryo. After the main event of Kintaro Kanemura defeating Mr. Gannosuke, Kanemura would get on the mic and announce that all the Independent wrestlers should band together to take on the wrestlers of major promotions like Zero-One. Kanemura, Gannosuke, Hido, Tetsuhiro Kuroda, TAKA Michinoku, GENTARO, Takashi Sasaki, and GOEMON & Onryo would join the group which would be called The Apache Army.
GOEMON would then work two times in one day as he would take part in WMF's Jr. Heavyweight show entitled "Flash" at the Tokyo Differ Ariake on September 6, 2003. GOEMON would team with GENTARO despite the differences between the two back in July to take on Onryo & WMF Jr. Heavyweight Champion Tomoya Adachi. GOEMON would score the victory over Adachi with a Swanton Bomb in the main event to make himself the number 1 contender for the WMF Jr. Heavyweight Title. GOEMON & Onryo would then team up later in the evening for WMF's 1st Anniversary Show to take on the team of Dick Togo & Ikuto Hidaka. Again, GOEMON & Onryo would lose another match as this time Togo would hit Onryo with a Senton Splash for the pinfall victory.
GOEMON & Onryo would team with fellow Apache Army members TAKA Michinoku & Takashi Sasaki to take on a group of Independent wrestlers that had not joined the group in Mammoth Sasaki, MIYAWAKI, YOSHIYA, and Ikeda-kun for the Fuyuki Army Promotion September 22, 2003 Korakuen Hall show. This time, GOEMON & Onryo would finally manage to get a victory on the same team together as even though Mammoth Sasaki would double clothesline them both and choke slam then both, it would be TAKA Michinoku who would manage to get Ikeda into his Just Lock cross face and force Ikeda to tap out for The Apache Army victory.
GOEMON would then challenge for Tomoya Adachi's WMF Jr. Heavyweight Title on October 14, 2003 at WMF's 2nd Flash show at the Tokyo Club ATOM. GOEMON would have the advantage on Adachi, and would even deliver a Falcon Arrow on to Adachi, but would not manage to get the three count. A frustrated GOEMON would grab the WMF Jr. Heavyweight Title and swing it at Adachi, but Adachi would duck and Superkick the title belt right onto GOEMON's face and cover him for the three count victory.
GOEMON & Onryo would then team up on October 19, 2003 at the Tokyo Differ Ariake against the Zero One team of Naohiro Hoshikawa & former FMW wrestler Yoshihito Sasaki. Hoshikawa & Sasaki would be too much for GOEMON & Onryo as Hoshikawa would use his lightning quick kicks and Sasaki would put up Onryo in a Canadian Backbreaker before Hoshikawa would finally finish off GOEMON with the pinfall for the victory and yet another GOEMON & Onryo loss.
GOEMON & Onryo would finally get their first victory as a team on October 24, 2003 at Fuyuki Army Promotion's Korakuen Hall show against GENTARO & Chocoball Mukai. GOEMON & GENTARO would brawl around ringside with Chocoball on offense on Onryo by using stiff kicks and hitting several moves to try and put Onryo away while GENTARO held onto GOEMON from making the save. Onryo would end up coming back and kicking Mukai from under his legs and getting the Onryo Clutch on Chocoball for the three count victory for the GOEMON & Onryo win.
GOEMON would then team with fellow Apache Army members Kintaro Kanemura & Tetsuhiro Kuroda for WMF's November 20, 2003 Korakuen Hall show against Jinsei Shinzaki, Seiji Ikeda, and Kazuya Yuasa. The Apache Army would take the loss after again Ikeda would manage to get the pinfall victory over his trainer GOEMON with a lariat and pinning GOEMON for the victory and the second straight victory over him. Despite embarrassed, GOEMON would accept the defeat by Ikeda.
GOEMON & Onryo would then take on Takashi Sasaki and his mystery partner Poison Sawada JULIE at Fuyuki Army Promotion's December 5, 2003 Korakuen Hall show. GOEMON and DDT's Poison Sawada JULIE would start off the match trading punches, but eventually Onryo and Takashi Sasaki who had been hypnotized to side with JULIE would go at it, with Onryo hitting a flip off the top rope onto the outside onto Sasaki, as well as a flying missile dropkick on Sasaki. Sasaki would counter with dropkicks as well as sunset flips, but Onryo would manage to turn it into a Onryo Clutch for a two count. GOEMON would come in, but would end up having Poison Sawada JULIE's cow mutilation submission maneuver put on him before Onryo would make the save. Onryo would then attempt to throw white powder at JULIE but JULIE would end up throwing GOEMON in the way causing the powder to get all over GOEMON's face and blind him. JULIE would then hit GOEMON with the face buster and get the pinfall victory over GOEMON in yet another GOEMON loss. With GOEMON out, JULIE would then attempt to suck GOEMON's brain out before Onryo would quickly dropkick JULIE out of the ring making the save for GOEMON.
GOEMON & Onryo would then enter in a 4 team Tournament for the NWA Light Heavyweight Intercontinental Tag Team Championships. They would have to face Dick Togo & Ikuto Hidaka on December 25, 2003 at Zero One's Korakuen Hall show. GOEMON would be making his debut for Zero One on the show. GOEMON & Onryo would take it to Togo & Hidaka by controlling the match most of the time, including GOEMON using his Falcon Arrow and Swanton Bombs while Onryo would use his Onryo Clutch, but it would be Togo & Hidaka to take the match after Hidaka would hit a Tornado DDT off the turnbuckle and Togo finishing Onryo with a Senton Bomb for the three count and the victory to eliminate GOEMON & Onryo from the Tournament and would end up winning the titles.
GOEMON & Onryo would take on Garuda & Masashi Ikeda on January 12, 2004 at the Saitama Pepe Hall Atlas, but again the up and coming wrestlers for WMF would get the victory over GENTARO would hit the ring and accidentally Superkick GOEMON knocking GOEMON out as Garuda would hit a diving body press right on GOEMON for the pinfall victory.
GOEMON & Onryo would renew their feud with GENTARO as they would take on GENTARO & Takashi Sasaki who had finally broke away from Poison Sawada JULIE's hypnosis. The two teams would go against each other at the Fuyuki Army Promotion January 14, 2004 Korakuen Hall show. GENTARO would get the best of GOEMON and lay him out with a Superkick and then followed by a Shooting Star Press to get the victory in yet another GOEMON pinfall loss. GENTARO would continue the attack on GOEMON after the match by continue to throw punches at him. Garuda would rush to the ring and deliver a top rope dropkick on GENTARO to make the save for GOEMON. Due to the conflict between the two teams, GOEMON & Onryo would no longer be apart of The Apache Army.
It would then be announced to the public that due to WMF's struggling business that most likely the last show will be on February 11, 2004 at Korakuen Hall. GOEMON's match would be turned into a old school FMW match.
GOEMON would team with Tetsuhiro Kuroda against Hideki Hosaka and Ricky Fuji at WMF's February 11, 2004 Korakuen Hall show. The match would be entitled "Story of the F" as all four wrestlers had wrestled with and against each other tons of times while in FMW. Kuroda would hit Ricky with the lariat and score the pinfall over him for the win. Later in the show, Onryo would manage to defeat GENTARO with help from GOEMON earlier in the match for the WMF Jr. Heavyweight Title using his 666 Lock for the submission. Mr. Gannosuke would then announce that the promotion would not be ending like expected, but that it would be restarting in six months and start back in August. GOEMON would officially leave the promotion and officially join his friend Hayabusa's Project Hayabusa group that would focus on Hayabusa's singing career, although he would still remain working every WMF show when it is to return.
GOEMON & Onryo would team up with MIKAMI to take on GENTARO, Takashi Sasaki, and DDT's Tanomusaku Toba the following day on February 12, 2004 at Korakuen Hall for the Fuyuki Army Promotion. Although MIKAMI would end up accidentally dropkicking GOEMON, the team would manage to get back in control as GOEMON would carve GENTARO's forehead with a fork causing him to bleed while putting him in the Camel Clutch. MIKAMI and GOEMON would both deliver their Swanton Bombs and Onryo would manage to put GENTARO in his 66 Lock causing GENTARO tap to the move for the second straight day.
With WMF not running for the time being, and the large gaps in between Fuyuki Army Promotion shows, GOEMON & Onryo would begin working for the the new small promotion called "666" started by Crazy SKB and help promoted by Onryo. The promotion would be based on dark gothic wrestlers. The first show would take place on December 13, 2003 at the Tokyo Takenotsuka Battle Sphere for what would be a successful show for the small arena. They would return on February 29, 2004 at the same Tokyo Takenotsuka Battle Sphere. GOEMON would team with Onryo as well the spiked red hair wrestler Crazy SKB. They would go on to defeat the team of The Great Takeru, Asian Cougar, and Asian Condor when Onryo would make Condor tap to the 666 Lock.
GOEMON would attend the 1 Year Anniversary of Kodo Fuyuki's death on March 19, 2004 at Korakuen Hall, with GOEMON joining all the other wrestlers on the card presenting a yellow flower to the ring with a life cardboard cutout of Kodo Fuyuki in the ring as a memorable to the late Kodo Fuyuki. GOEMON would team up with fellow former Team No Respect members Mr. Gannosuke and Masao Orihara, as well as MIYAWAKI to face Takashi Sasaki, GENTARO, Garuda, and Goshogawara Goshogawara with GOEMON going at it with GENTARO for the most part of the match, but it would be Gannosuke to get the victory over Goshogawara with the lariat for the victory.
Ricky Fuji would promote his own show "One Wild Night" the next day on March 20, 2004 at the Tokyo Takenotsuka Battle Sphere. Ricky would take on Men's Teioh in a 60 minute Iron Man match with Teioh winning four falls to three. After the match, a familiar FMW theme would begin to play and Koji "The Hitman" Nakagawa would come out down the ramp. It would be the return of Koji Nakagawa in wrestling for the first time since May 28, 2000. Nakagawa would be dressed in his old FMW attire from the mid 90's when he feuded with Ricky Fuji. Nakagawa would make the challenge to Ricky Fuji for a singles match at his next show, and Ricky would accept.
GOEMON would team up with Onryo & Masao Orihara to take on Takashi Sasaki, Gosaku Goshogawara, and Daisaku Shimoda for the last Korakuen Hall show on April 8, 2004 for the Fuyuki Army Promotion. It would also be the first time GOEMON was not facing GENTARO for a Fuyuki Army Korakuen Hall show in 2004. Goshogawara would go after GOEMON in the match, attempting to chokeslam him, but GOEMON would manage to counter and deliver a hip toss to him instead, with Orihara following up by delivering a supplex to Goshogawara. GOEMON would back in the ring with Onryo but would both would end up being hit with a double clothesline by Shimoda. Shimoda would attempt an enziguri on Onryo, but Onryo would manage to duck it, and kick Shimoda's legs from underneath him and roll him up for the Onryo Clutch for the victory.
GOEMON would then return to Kawasaki Stadium for the first time since 2001 to team up with Garuda on May 5, 2004 for the last Fuyuki Army Promotion show. GOEMON & Garuda's opponents would be no stranger to GOEMON in Jado & Gedo who were GOEMON's former tag partners four years earlier in FMW as the three had won two WEW 6 Man Tag Team Titles together. Garuda would face off against Jado & Gedo early, but GOEMON would be tagged in and begin brawling outside the ring with Jado with Jado swinging GOEMON into the guardrail. Jado would eventually manage to get GOEMON into the Crossface of JADO and force GOEMON to tap out for the Jado & Gedo victory over their old friend and partner for GOEMON's seventh and most likely final Kawasaki Stadium match.
GOEMON would then take part for the Wrestle-Aid Project group that would a charity funded show for May 16, 2004 at the Tokyo Differ Ariake facing his former tag team partner Tomoya Adachi with Tomoya getting the pinfall victory over his former tag team partner.
GOEMON would team up with Onryo & Bolshoi 666 for the 666 promotion June 6, 2004 at the Tokyo Takenotsuka Battle Sphere to face Asian Cougar, HERO!, and baby-M. The match would be entitled Good vs. Evil, although the evil team of GOEMON, Onryo, and Bolshoi would actually be the faces during the match. Asian Cougar would end up getting the victory for his team after pinning Onryo in the main event.
GOEMON would then participate in Hayabusa's first concert on June 11, 2004 in Sapporo called "Triple Fight". Hayabusa & GOEMON would be joined by guitarist Masahiko Minoya who would play while Hayabusa sang. GOEMON would help with the show, talking with Hayabusa in between songs as the show overall would be considered a success.
GOEMON would return to the ring for the first time in over two months for the return of WMF on August 7, 2004 at the Tokyo Kitazawa Hall by teaming up with Mr. Gannosuke to go against Garuda & Seiji Ikeda in the main event of the show. The match would be the longest match in the promotions history going almost twenty-six minutes before Garuda would trap GOEMON into an armbreaker forcing GOEMON to tap.
GOEMON, Onryo, and Bolshoi 666 would return as a tag team along with MASAMUNE to face Asian Cougar, HERO!, The Great Takeru, and baby-M on August 21, 2004 at the Tokyo Takenotsuka Battle Sphere in a near rematch of two months earlier with again a Good vs. Evil theme to it, with the faces representing the evil. This time the end result would be different as Onryo would manage to score the pinfall victory on Asian Cougar after pinning him with the school boy for the win.
GOEMON would then team up with Onryo & Junji Tanaka to face Mammoth Sasaki and his DDT friends Tomohiko Hashimoto & Seiya Morohashi on August 29, 2004 at the Saitama Pepe Atlas Hall for WMF's 2nd Anniversary show. The Junior Heavyweight team of GOEMON, Onryo, and Tanaka would be no match for the powerhouse team of Mammoth and the DDT wrestlers as Mammoth would manage to finish off Tanaka with the 29 Years Old.
GOEMON & Onryo would return to Korakuen Hall for the first time since April 8th to team together once again for the debut of the Apache Army Promotion on August 30, 2004. GOEMON & Onryo would team up to take on Undertaker Gosaku which was a gimmick Goshogawara had used in 1994 in FMW and Paul Bearer who was DDT's Shoichi Ichimiya portraying The Undertaker's manager. Bearer would barely take part in the match, and although Undertaker Gosaku would deliver several Undertaker trademark moves, he simply could not handle GOEMON & Onryo and Onryo would manage to pin him using the Onryo Clutch.
GOEMON would then be entered into the WMF Round Robin Tournament consisting of himself, Mr. Gannosuke, Mammoth Sasaki, Soldier, Onryo, Garuda, Seiji Ikeda, and Mineo Fujita with the winner getting their one wish granted. The first match of the tournament would take place on November 6, 2004 at the Tokyo Takenotsuka Battle Sphere, with GOEMON facing his partner Onryo. Although GOEMON would control a good portion of the match, his struggle to defeat Onryo would happen again as Onryo would manage to lock the 66 Lock on GOEMON and force him to tap against his tag team partner giving GOEMON his first lost in the tournament.
The return of Koji Nakagawa in the ring would take place on November 14, 2004 at the Tokyo Takenotsuka Battle Sphere, with Nakagawa wrestling as Koji "The Hitman" Nakagawa at Ricky Fuji's second promoted show in the main event. It would renewal their rivalry from FMW in 1995 with this time Ricky Fuji getting the victory over Nakagawa after the Referee would be force to stop the match. Nakagawa extremely upset over the loss in his return would demand a rematch to take place at the next show promoted by Ricky Fuji.
GOEMON's second match of the WMF Round Robin Tournament would take place on November 28, 2004 at the Tokyo Takenotsuka Battle Sphere, with GOEMON facing Seiji Ikeda. Even though GOEMON had trained Seiji Ikeda in the FMW Dojo, he had lacked success against his former student losing to him when Ikeda was still a comedy wrestler in the WMF Jr. Heavyweight Tournament on June 1, 2003 and then getting pinned by him again in a 6-man on November 20, 2003. This time the match was controlled by GOEMON though who would manage to get even on Ikeda by scoring the pinfall over him earning GOEMON two points and his first win of the tournament.
GOEMON's next opponent in the WMF Round Robin Tournament would be Mr. Gannosuke on December 18, 2004 at the Tokyo Takenotsuka Battle Sphere which would be an incredible difficult task for GOEMON as Gannosuke was one of the few wrestlers in FMW that Nakagawa never defeated during the later years of the promotion. Gannosuke again would be just too much for GOEMON as he would get his first victory by making GOEMON tap to the Nirvana strangle putting GOEMON in a bad spot in the tournament. GOEMON would be able to rebound the next day on December 19, 2004 at the Tokyo Takenotsuka Battle Sphere defeating Mineo Fujita after making him submit to the Crossface to earn four points in the tournament and stay alive going into the new year.
GOEMON's next challenge would be on January 22, 2005 at the Tokyo Takenotsuka Battle Sphere, taking on another one of his former students Soldier and once again GOEMON would suffer a defeat after being nailed with Soldier's BUU that would cost him his chances of advancing to the finals after losing.
GOEMON would be put in a spot where he could not lose anymore matches in the tournament, or he would be eliminated. GOEMON would then face Mammoth Sasaki the next day on January 23, 2005 at the Tokyo Takenotsuka Battle Sphere. Mammoth who had originally made his debut facing GOEMON had gone years before finally being able to defeat GOEMON was now the clear favorite going into the match. But GOEMON would use his quickness and intelligence after Mammoth would attempt to hit him with the Mammoth Home Run. Mammoth would set the chair on GOEMON's head and just as he was about to smash another chair over GOEMON's head, GOEMON would quickly duck and throw the chair on his head in the air to dodge the Mammoth Home Run. Mammoth would come back and try to take another swing at GOEMON, but GOEMON would move out of the way right before Mammoth would take his swing and miss, hitting the ropes and causing the chair to come right back and hit him in the face allowing GOEMON to quickly roll up Mammoth with the school boy to get the pinfall victory and stay alive in the WMF Round Robin Tournament with six points.
Motoko Baba would put together a Giant Baba Memorial Show at Budokan Hall, home of many of old All Japan classic matches on February 5, 2005. Hayabusa who had became friends with Giant Baba at the end of his life had agreed to open the show with a tribute song to Baba, as well as have GOEMON booked for the show. GOEMON would team up with Yuto Aijima to face Ryuji Hijikata and Nobukazu Hirai with Hirai getting the pinfall victory over Aijima with the Hirai End for the victory to start the show.
GOEMON would again participate for Hayabusa's Triple Fight on February 15, 2005 on the three year anniversary of the day that FMW was declared bankrupt. The concert would held at KRAPS Hall for a show that was postponed back in December that was going to auction off many Hayabusa items. GOEMON led the auction in between songs helping auction off posters of Hayabusa during his career, as well as Hayabusa cigarette lighters for another successful concert for Hayabusa.
GOEMON's last chance at advancing into the finals for the WMF Round Robin Tournament would fall on February 19, 2005 at the Tokyo Takenotsuka Battle Sphere, taking on another one of his students in Garuda. Garuda would manage to make GOEMON tap to his submission move the Lunar Eclipse eliminating GOEMON from advancing in the tournament, and causing GOEMON to finish with 6 points.
GOEMON would suffer even more humiliation the next night on February 20, 2005 at the Tokyo Takenotsuka Battle Sphere when GOEMON would team up with Seiji Ikeda to face Onryo & Mineo Fujita in a match of the four wrestlers that did not advance into the tournament. GOEMON would again lose to one of his students, this time it would be Mineo Fujita who had only been a professional for two years and had graduated from the WMF Dojo. Fujita would manage to put away GOEMON with the neckbreaker as GOEMON continued to put over each and one of his students. Soldier would end up eventually winning the WMF Round Robin Tournament after defeating Mammoth Sasaki later in the night in the main event.
Koji Nakagawa would return on March 19, 2005 at the Tokyo Takenotsuka Battle Sphere for another Ricky Fuji promoted "One Wild Night" show, almost one year to the day that he had originally came out at the first show and challenged Ricky Fuji to a match. Their rematch this time would be a Canadian Last Standing Match, and Nakagawa would manage to get his revenge after putting away Ricky Fuji with a Tiger Driver on a chair. Ricky after being pinned would not be able to get back up after the 10 count and the bloody Koji Nakagawa would be rewarded the victory over his rival. Nakagawa would then place the Canadian flag over Ricky Fuji's body and shake his hand after winning the 10 year feud that he had with Ricky Fuji.
GOEMON's good luck against an old rival would happen as well as he would challenge once again former tag team partner and current rival Onryo for the WMF Jr. Heavyweight Championship on April 1, 2005 at the Shin-Kiba 1st Ring. GOEMON would manage to kick out of the Onryo Clutch, and escape the 66 Lock and finally manage to score the pinfall victory over Onryo ending his struggles against Onryo, as well as the WMF Jr. Heavyweight Title. It would be GOEMON's first title since having to vacate the WEW 6 Man Tag Team Titles after Hayabusa's injury, and his first single title since winning the FMW Independent Junior Heavyweight Title over Ricky Fuji ten years ago as Koji Nakagawa.
GOEMON would return to the Tokyo Differ Ariake to participate for the WE LOVE SABU charity show on April 17, 2005. GOEMON who had been friends with Sabu dating back to the early FMW days was honored to work the show for his friend after Sabu had became ill and needed money to pay the hospital bills. GOEMON would team with Big Japan's Daisuke Sekimoto and renewal his feud with GENTARO and Takashi Sasaki, but once again GOEMON would have no luck against Sasaki & GENTARO as Sasaki would manage to pin GOEMON with the D Geist for the Akrangers victory. After the show, all the wrestlers would get in the ring to pose for the cameras with Sabu and have a beer party in honor of him.
GOEMON would defend his WMF Jr. Heavyweight Title for the first time on May 14, 2005 at the Tokyo Takenotsuka Battle Sphere, facing his Mineo Fujita. Fujita had earned the title shot after pinning GOEMON in a tag match back on February 20th in a upset. GOEMON would make sure that he would not be embarrassed by his former student again, and would manage to hook on the Crossface to Fujita forcing him to tap for the GOEMON victory for his first successful title defense in years.
GOEMON would then team up with Gosaku Goshogawara and Kenji Sawaragi to face Soldier, Mad Man Pondo, and Necro Butcher on May 15, 2005 at the Osaka Delfin Arena. Soldier who had got to bring in the foreigners as a reward for the winning the WMF Round Robin Tournament would turn the match into a brawl using stacks of chairs and tables before Necro Butcher would manage to score the pinfall over Gosaku with the Super Powerbomb for the victory.
GOEMON would return to the 666 promotion on May 21, 2005 at the Tokyo Takenotsuka Battle Sphere to team up with MASAMUNE to face off against Asian Cougar and Asian Condor for the show that was celebrating Onryo's 10 years in pro wrestling. The match would be force to stop after MASAMUNE would refuse to stop tearing off Asian Cougar's mask causing the referee to disqualify MASAMUNE and reward the match to Asian Cougar & Asian Condor. Onryo would end up winning his ten year anniversary match against MIKAMI after originally the match had been a double count out. The match would restart and Onryo who would take off his shirt for the first time revealing his whole right side of his body tattooed would end up getting the Onryo Clutch on MIKAMI for the victory. Afterwards, Onryo would speak for the first time ever to the crowd in celebration of his anniversary in wrestling and hug MIKAMI afterwards.
It would then be announced that Laing, Inc. the financial backers for WMF would be pulling out of the promotion after nearly three years of funding it, feeling that the promotion was never going to make them money. Mr. Gannosuke would announce that he would keep WMF alive by promoting the next show on July 31, 2005 by himself along with help from some minor sponsors. The WMF Jr. Heavyweight Title would also disappear after the back out as GOEMON's title would never be defended again.
Hayabusa's next Triple Fight would be on June 20, 2005 at the Naked Loft, with the show being dedicated to both Masahiko Minoya and GOEMON's birthday as both their birthdays would be on the same week.
GOEMON would then participate for DDT on July 11, 2005 at the Niigata Phase for the first time since 2002 for an Earthquake revival charity show for the victims of a Earthquake in Niigata in February. GOEMON would team up with HERO! who had recently joined the darkside and became Darkside HERO! to face KUDO & Kota Ibushi with HERO! hitting the splash to score the victory over Ibushi for the sold out charity show.
WMF would begin to change now that their big financial backer had backed out and on July 31, 2005 at the Tokyo Takenotsuka Battle Sphere the promotion would lose both Mammoth Sasaki and Seiji Ikeda. GOEMON would put over Soldier after Soldier would defeat him using his BUU to help continue Soldier's push to the top.
WMF would move to their new home after the Tokyo Takenotsuka Battle Sphere would be closed down as a wrestling venue due to complaints of people living in the neighborhood. The new home for WMF would be the Tokyo Shin-Kiba 1st Ring and WMF would begin running their regularly on September 9, 2005. GOEMON would face off against a new wrestler by the name of Lingerie Muto which was Battlarts' Munenori Sawa dressed up as Keiji Muto in Lingerie. The match would be a Lingerie Dream Match with GOEMON getting the win over Muto with a cradle for the victory.
GOEMON would then team up with Mineo Fujita to face off against Mr. Gannosuke and the returning Garuda who GOEMON had trained in FMW on December 25, 2005 at the Shin-Kiba 1st Ring. It was Garuda's first appearance for the promotion since leaving in April. Gannosuke would end up getting the pinfall over Fujita with a Gannosuke Clutch for the win. A new group would be formed at the end of the show as Soldier, Mineo Fujita, and Kenji Sawaragi would form the New Generation Army and would battle against the older veterans like GOEMON and Gannosuke.
The first battle pitting The New Generation against GOEMON and Mr. Gannosuke would be on January 20, 2006 at the Shin-Kiba 1st Ring. Gannosuke and GOEMON would announce their partner as the 17 year old Katsuhiko Nakajima to face Soldier, Mineo Fujita, and Kenji Sawaragi with GOEMON getting the pinfall after GOEMON would put Fujita in the Gannosuke Clutch for the win.
It would just be the beginning of the feud between the older and younger wrestlers though. GOEMON and Gannosuke would team up again on February 5, 2006 at the Osaka Delfin Arena to face Soldier and Kenji Sawaragi and once again GOEMON would manage to pick up the pinfall after hitting Sawaragi with the Swanton Bomb for the pinfall.
GOEMON and Mr. Gannosuke would bring back another older former FMW wrestler in Hisakatsu Oya to team with them against the New Generation Army on March 3, 2006 at the Shin-Kiba 1st Ring. Soldier and Mineo Fujita would team up with Osaka Pro's Black Buffalo who was very clear that he was fighting for himself and not his partners during the match. Gannosuke would end up putting away Soldier with the Fire Thunder for another veteran win over the New Generation Army.
GOEMON and Gannosuke would then team up with the man that trained them in the FMW Dojo in the early 90's in Tarzan Goto. It would be the first time that GOEMON would be teaming up wit Goto since Goto left FMW in 1995. GOEMON, Gannosuke, and Goto would face the team of Ricky Fuji, Asian Cougar, and Kenji Sawaragi on March 27, 2006 at the Akita Municipal Island Gym with Goto hitting the Lariat on Sawaragi for the win.
After teaming with their teacher the prior month, Gannosuke and GOEMON would again go back to something of their past in a Barbed wire Street Fight. They would team up on April 21, 2006 at the Shin-Kiba 1st Ring against Soldier and Gosaku. GOEMON would be thrown into the Barbed wire and Gannosuke would be sent through a fluorescent light tube but in the end it would be Gannosuke that would finish off Gosaku with a lariat for yet another victory over the New Generation Army.
GOEMON and Gannosuke would team up once again on June 11, 2006 at the Shin-Kiba 1st Ring against the New Generation Army of Soldier and Mineo Fujita and finally the New Generation Army after 6 months would get their first main event win after Soldier would hit GOEMON with the lariat to get the win for the younger wrestlers.
GOEMON would team up with another former FMW wrestler in Gosaku to take on the Canadian team of Ricky Fuji and Matt Richards on July 1, 2006 at the Shin-Kiba 1st Ring. Although Richards was a very athletic wrestler he would end up blowing several spots in the match and GOEMON would get the cradle pinfall over him for the win.
GOEMON would then be moved out of the main event of the New Generation vs. WMF Army feud and moved into the midcard six man matches on the show. GOEMON would team up with Asian Cougar and Kitten Kid against former partner Onryo, Tomoya Adachi, and isami on August 27, 2006 at the Shin-Kiba 1st Ring. GOEMON would hardly be in the ring at all during the match as his team would take the fall after Adachi would hit the SOD on Kitten Kid for the win.
GOEMON would continue in the midcard this time by reuniting with Onryo and Tomoya Adachi on September 30, 2006 at the Shin-Kiba 1st Ring as they would defeat the team of Asian Cougar, Yuko Miyamoto, and Kenji Sawaragi's new masked persona Kamui after Adachi would once again hit the SOD for the pinfall on Kamui.
GOEMON would team up with Tomoya Adachi again as well as Masamune against Onryo, Masanori Ishikura, and the female Kyoko Kimura on October 15, 2006 at the Osaka Delfin Arena with Adachi for the third straight month hitting the SOD for the win as he would hit it on Ishikura for the victory.
GOEMON would then be teamed up with a wrestler going by the Hayabusa on November 4, 2006 at the Shin-Kiba 1st Ring against Ricky Fuji and Gosaku. It would end up being the returning Hideki Hosaka under the Hayabusa though as Hayabusa would end up hitting the Hurricanrana on Gosaku for the win. It would be the only match Hosaka would wrestle under the Hayabusa name as he would return the next month under his real name instead.
GOEMON would reunite with Onryo for the final time as a tag team in WMF on December 9, 2006 at the Shin-Kiba 1st Ring as they would defeat the team of Tomoya Adachi and Kamui after Kamui would hit a Diving Body Attack that would see GOEMON end up rolling up Kamui for the pinfall after the two would hit the mat.
GOEMON would enter along with WMF rookie Kenichi Kono in the Marvelous Future Tag Team Tournament. The 1st Round would be held on January 13, 2007 at the Shin-Kiba 1st Ring with GOEMON and Kono losing to Mineo Fujita and Kitten kid after Fujita would get the pinfall over Kono to eliminate them early on. Fujita and Kitten Kid would go on to win the tournament the following month.
GOEMON would then form a tag team with Kamui on February 24, 2007 at the Osaka Azalea Taisho as they would face the team of Gran Hamada and Onryo with Hamada hitting a Hama-Chan Cutter off the top rope on Kamui to get the win for his team.
GOEMON would team up with Hideki Hosaka to face off against Mr. Gannosuke and Soldier on April 14, 2007 at the Shin-Kiba 1st Ring. The match would end up coming to an end with all four men agreeing to unite and leave WMF and feud with WMF instead. The new group consisting of GOEMON, Gannosuke, Soldier, and Hosaka would be called the KHM and they would target the rest of the roster in WMF.
The first match for the KHM would see GOEMON, Gannosuke, and Hideki Hosaka team up on May 19, 2007 at the Shin-Kiba 1st Ring against Soldier, Mineo Fujita, and Kengo Takai with Mineo Fujita turning on WMF after throwing fire at Soldier's face causing Soldier to be blind and allow Gannosuke to hit the Fire Thunder on him for the pinfall as Fujita had just become the newest member of the KHM Army.
GOEMON and Hideki Hosaka would team up on June 9, 2007 at the Shin-Kiba 1st Ring to face off against the WMF team of Ricky Fuji and Kankuro Hoshino with Hosaka hitting the Death Valley Bomb on Hoshino for the win as the KHM would continue to dominate over the WMF group.
The KHM team of GOEMON, Gannosuke, Hideki Hosaka, and newest member Yasu Urano would team up against the WMF team of Soldier, Ricky Fuji, Kamui, and Kankuro Hoshino on June 30, 2007 at the Shin-Kiba 1st Ring. Hosaka would end up hitting the lariat on Hoshino to get the win again for the KHM as the group was looking to become unstoppable.
After having his trademark long hair for over 12 years, Koji Nakagawa would decide to cut it. Nakagawa who was only being booked by WMF once a month would focus on life outside of wrestling and get a real job to support his family and would choose to cut it out for comfort and the fact that he was beginning to lose his hair as well. GOEMON would debut the new look on July 5, 2007 at Mr. Gannosuke's promoted show in a tag team with Gannosuke against Dick Togo and the Apache Army's GENTARO. It would be the first time in three years that the WMF wrestlers were in the same match as an Apache Army wrestler. Dick Togo would end up slapping on the Crossface on GOEMON that would make him submit for the win.
GOEMON would end up wrestling his last WMF match on August 25, 2007 at the Shin-Kiba 1st Ring. He would end up defeating Chon-Shiryu by making him submit to the Sharpshooter ending his five year run with the promotion. Nakagawa would begin to just focus on his full time job and only a few Ice Ribbon shows put on by Emi Sakura for the rest of 2007.
GOEMON would return to wrestling on a more national scale by being booked twice on January 6, 2008. GOEMON would first team up with Alexander Otsuka to take on Onryo and PSYCHIC at the Shin-Kiba 1st Ring with GOEMON getting the pinfall on PSYCHIC after hitting him with a Backdrop. GOEMON would then travel to Shinjuku later in the day to wrestle on IWA Japan's January 6, 2008 show at the Shinjuku FACE. GOEMON would challenge for the IWA Jr. Heavyweight Championship against Ultra Seven with Ultra Seven getting the pinfall over GOEMON to defend his title.
GOEMON would show back up on February 10, 2008 at the Shin-Kiba 1st Ring for a Masaaki Mochizuki promoted show with GOEMON facing off against Dragon Gate wrestler Kenichiro Arai who happen to train and share a room in the FMW Dojo with Nakagawa in 1994 until it was considered that Arai would not make it as a wrestler in FMW and was dropped out of the Dojo. GOEMON would end up getting pinned and taking the loss to his former room mate . Kintaro Kanemura would also appear on the show in one of the last shows as an Apache Army wrestler as later that month he would end up in a sexual harassment scandal that would force him out of the Apache Army. The promotion would originally close, but then be brought back by Takashi Sasaki and the dynamic would be changed between who would work where between the former FMW wrestlers soon enough.
Another huge change would occur in May 2008 when Mr. Gannosuke would announce that he was retiring at the end of the year. He would also decide to close down the WMF promotion in August 2008. Gannosuke would also one more Shin-Kiba 1st Ring show promoted under Gannosuke's name with GOEMON participating in the main event. GOEMON would team up with Dick Togo on August 16, 2008 against Mr. Gannosuke and Dradition's Hiro Saito with Gannosuke getting one last pinfall over his Dojo friend of 16 years after hitting GOEMON with the Fire Thunder. It would also mark the end of Nakagawa using the GOEMON name full time.
Due to the changes with Kintaro Kanemura being out of the Apache Army and Takashi Sasaki coming in it would allow Mr. Gannosuke to return to the Apache Army. He would bring in former WMF wrestlers Kamui and Ricky Fuji into the promotion as well as GOEMON but Takashi Sasaki would not be interested in the GOEMON character rather than his real name that he went by in FMW for 8 years under. Gannosuke would begin to feud with the Apache Army and create his own FMW Legends Army that would consist of Gannosuke, Tetsuhiro Kuroda, and Ricky Fuji. The FMW Legends Army of Mr. Gannosuke and Tetsuhiro Kuroda would announce a Mystery Partner to take on the Apache Army consisting of Jun Kasai, The Winger, and their Mystery Partner on August 22, 2008 at the Shin-Kiba 1st Ring. The FMW Legends Army mystery partner would be revealed to be Koji Nakagawa returning with his jean shorts and Team No Respect t-shirt but the Apache Army's mystery partner would be revealed to be Hido who would end up getting the win for the Apache Army after rolling up Nakagawa.
Koji Nakagawa was now backed being booked regularly with the Apache Army promotion and would begin to grow out his hair long again. Nakagawa would team up with Mr. Gannosuke on September 12, 2008 at the Shin-Kiba 1st Ring against the Apache Army members of Mammoth Sasaki and YOSHIYA with Mammoth getting DQ'd after throwing down the referee to give Gannosuke and Nakagawa the win. It would not end the Mammoth feud against his former FMW friends as he would set his sights for the FMW Legends Army leader in Mr. Gannosuke.
Nakagawa would team up with FMW Legends Army members Mr. Gannosuke, Tetsuhiro Kuroda, and Ricky Fuji on September 22, 2008 at the Shin-Kiba 1st Ring against the Apache Army members of Mammoth Sasaki, Takashi Sasaki, GENTARO, and YOSHIYA in a Iron Cage Scramble Street Fight with Gannosuke getting the pinfall over Mammoth after hooking him up in the Gannosuke Clutch for the FMW win. Mammoth would be enraged with the loss and challenge Gannosuke in a Barbed wire Death Match at the next show.
Koji Nakagawa would team up with old friend Tetsuhiro Kuroda on October 10, 2008 at the Shin-Kiba 1st Ring to battle the Akrangers of Takashi Sasaki and GENTARO. Kuroda would end up getting the pinfall over Sasaki with a lariat for another FMW Legends win. Mammoth Sasaki would end up getting revenge on Mr. Gannosuke in the main event in a Barbed wire Death Match after Mammoth would hit the 29 Years Old for the win. Afterwards, Mammoth and Gannosuke would embrace and Gannosuke would offer Mammoth an FMW t-shirt and offer him to join the FMW Legends Army with Mammoth accepting. This would upset the rest of the Apache Army that would come out with Mammoth attacking and laying them out as the newest member of the FMW Legends Army.
Nakagawa would return as GOEMON for one of the last big matches of his career as he would team up with Mr. Gannosuke to take on Big Hayabusa which would be Genichiro Tenryu under the mask and Ricky Fuji on October 19, 2008 for the Guts World promotion at the Shinjuku FACE with the Hayabusa name getting the pinfall over GOEMON one final time.
Nakagawa would return back to his name and face off against Apache Army wrestler The Winger on October 24, 2008 at the Shin-Kiba 1st Ring with Nakagawa managing to escape after rolling up The Winger with a Schoolboy for the victory.
Nakagawa would then team up with FMW Legends Army members Mammoth Sasaki and Tetsuhiro Kuroda on November 14, 2008 at the Shin-Kiba 1st Ring against Apache Army members Takashi Sasaki, Jun Kasai, and The Winger in a Fluorescent Light Tube Death Match. The Death Match would suit the Apache Army members as they had all wrestled that gimmick Death Match plenty of times while being regulars for Big Japan. Takashi Sasaki would end up getting the pinfall over Nakagawa after hitting him the D-Geist to get the victory for the Apache Army.
Nakagawa would then take on two different Apache Army members in GENTARO and The Winger on November 28, 2008 at the Shin-Kiba 1st Ring. Nakagawa would end up escaping again after managing to roll up Winger for the pinfall. A match between the two huge Bret Hart fans in GENTARO and Nakagawa would be made for Mr. Gannosuke's Retirement show on December 28th to finally see who was the better man.
Nakagawa would team up with Tetsuhiro Kuroda again on December 12, 2008 at the Shin-Kiba 1st Ring to take on the young hardcore team of Yuko Miyamoto and Masashi Takeda in a Hardcore Rules Match with the older veteran getting the win after Kuroda would hit the Lariat on Takeda for pinfall.
The last match as the FMW Legends Army would take place on December 25, 2008 at the Shin-Kiba 1st Ring. Due to Gannosuke retiring in days and another change taking place with the Apache Army promotion and its sponsors, the FMW Legend Army would end after this show. The FMW Legend Army team of Tetsuhiro Kuroda, Mammoth Sasaki, and Koji Nakagawa would face the Apache Army of Takashi Sasaki, GENTARO, and Kamui one final time in a Barbed wire Board Street Fight Mammoth getting the pinfall after hitting a Guillotine Drop on Kamui with the Barbed wire Boards placed on top of him as the FMW Legends Army would go out one final time victorious.
Koji Nakagawa would face off against GENTARO who would definitely be most like a young Koji Nakagawa in a singles match for Mr. Gannosuke's Retirement show on December 27, 2008 at the Shin-Kiba 1st Ring. GENTARO would end up getting the victory over Nakagawa after getting an Inside Cradle for the victory. Mr. Gannosuke would retire later in the show with all the wrestlers including Nakagawa being apart of the Ceremony. After the show, former FMW wrestlers of Hayabusa, Mr. Gannosuke, Masato Tanaka, Kintaro Kanemura, Tetsuhiro Kuroda, Mammoth Sasaki, Gosaku Goshogawara, Ricky Fuji, Flying Kid Ichihara, and Koji Nakagawa would all appear together and take group photos with one another one last time.
Nakagawa would continue working with the Apache Army promotion as Ricky Fuji's tag team partner in midcard matches. Nakagawa and Ricky Fuji would team up on January 16, 2009 at the Shin-Kiba 1st Ring against GENTARO and The Winger with the Winger reversing a Hurricanrana on Ricky to get the pinfall victory over the old FMW team.
Nakagawa and Ricky Fuji would team up again on February 19, 2009 at the Shin-Kiba 1st Ring as they would take on the team of Gosaku and Naoshi Sano with Nakagawa rolling up Sano under his old team partners finishing move in the Gedo Clutch for the win.
Koji Nakagawa and Ricky Fuji would team up again on March 16, 2009 at the Shin-Kiba 1st Ring to take on Keita Yano and the only regular wrestling person that he trained while in FMW in Yoshihito Sasaki. Sasaki would show off to Nakagawa how powerful he had gotten over the last decade since Nakagawa trained him, but it would be Ricky Fuji to get the pinfall after hitting the 9999 DDT on Yano for the win.
Nakagawa would team up with someone else other than Ricky Fuji for the first time in months as he would team up with The Winger on April 17, 2009 at the Shin-Kiba 1st Ring to take on the team of Ricky Fuji and Gosaku with Nakagawa putting Gosaku into the Gannosuke Clutch for the win.
Koji Nakagawa would return under his GOEMON persona on May 22, 2009 at the Shin-Kiba 1st Ring as he would face off against Ricky Fuji and Masa Takanashi in a Three Way Match with Ricky managing to get the pinfall victory over Takanashi with the 9999 DDT.
Nakagawa for his 40th Birthday would team up with both The Winger and Ricky Fuji to take on the team of Yoshihito Sasaki, Munenori Sawa, and Keita Yano on June 26, 2009 at the Shin-Kiba 1st Ring with The Winger getting the pinfall over Sawa after rolling him up for the win. It would then be announced that the Apache Army was closing down and Takashi Sasaki would be starting up another promotion by the name of FREEDOMS in place of it. Nakagawa and Ricky Fuji would be booked for the first show.
Koji Nakagawa and Ricky Fuji would team up for the debut of the FREEDOMS promotion on September 2, 2010 at the Shin-Kiba 1st Ring. They would face off against young wrestlers that they had had success against in previous months, but this time Takeda and Yano would end up outsmarting the FMW veterans after they wend up fighting with Ricky on the outside of the ring and then rolling him up in the ring mat outside causing Ricky to be counted out to earn the Takeda and Yano team a victory. Nakagawa who had lost much weight over the last months due to not training as hard as he use to would also cut his hair once again signifying that he was ready to stop working even his once a month shots as he would return to working full time to support his family.
Nakagawa would return back in the ring for the new Shin-FMW promotion started up by Tarzan Goto on December 24, 2009 at the Shin-Kiba 1st Ring. GOEMON would team up with Ricky Fuji and The Shooter # 1 against wrestlers from the small West Gate promotion in Tetsuya Kimura, Great Sata, and Suzume with Ricky getting the pinfall over the the Great Sata for the old FMW veterans victory.
GOEMON would return to the Shin-FMW promotion on January 26, 2010 at the Shin-Kiba 1st Ring teaming up with West Gate wrestler Masahiro Sase to defeat the team of Madoka and Tomonobu Matsumoto after GOEMON would get the pinfall victory over Matsumoto. It would end up being the last Shin-FMW show that GOEMON would end up working for.
Nakagawa would randomly reappear for the FREEDOMS promotion by once again teaming up with Ricky Fuji and The Winger on May 2, 2010 at the Yokohama Red Brick Warehouse against the team of Brahman Shu, Brahman Kei, and Antonio Honda. Nakagawa would end up getting his first win in almost over a year after hitting his signature move the Jackknife Roll up on Brahman Shu to get the win for his team and perhaps the final win of his career.
Koji Nakagawa would return to the ring for what might possibly be the last time as he would team up with his trainer Tarzan Goto and friend Tetsuhiro Kuroda to represent the FMW team as they would face off against Keizo Matsuda, Riki Ishin, and YOSHIYA on July 11, 2010 for the IWA Japan promotion at the Tokyo Shinjuku FACE. Nakagawa would end up taking the loss after Matsuda would end up finishing him off for the pin.
Nakagawa would return as GOEMON on November 1, 2010 at the Shin-Kiba 1st Ring for the 666 promotion by reforming his team with Onryo for the first time since December 9, 2006 to take on another former FMW team in Azusa Kudo and Emi Sakura with Onryo managing to get the win for the former WEW Tag Team Champions after rolling up Kudo with the Onryo Clutch for the victory.
Koji Nakagawa's 18 year career in professional wrestling seems to be almost over other than bookings for the 666 promotion. Nakagawa now has a regular full time job Although it looks to be almost over, Nakagawa definitely had a very underrated career and was a key contributor for the FMW promotion and was always willing to show he had what it takes to belong with the other wrestlers no matter how much punishment he took as a result.
I got the chance to meet Koji Nakagawa one time on June 26, 2009 at the Shin-Kiba 1st Ring. I was talking with Ricky Fuji and Nakagawa came up to leave with Ricky. Ricky Fuji tried to tell Nakagawa about how much of a fan of FMW I was, but Nakagawa was more interested in just getting out of there. It was still a cool moment to get to take that picture of Nakagawa who as Mr. Double Cross in FMW was one of my favorite characters in FMW.
